Seniors Discounts has its first birthday

Simply ideas are the best. Daniel, the guy behind Seniors Discounts, has created a crystal clear sales proposition base on providing information on the financial discounts that reaching the grand age of 50 years-old confers.

In the past 12 months his web site has grown to 160 pages, with monthly figures of over 25,000 visitors and 300+ people requesting the newsletter.

I reckon that is pretty good going for a part time start-up. Dick Stroud

A new 50-player on the block

The Forster Company is the social change communications consultancy. I have to admit that I have no idea what a “social change communications consultancy” actually does. Communicate about social change (whatever that is) - who knows.

What’s in it for the clients? Very little other than: “helping them protect the environment, improve public health and advance human rights and social justice”. Small beer.

I joke enough. This outfit has produced a pretty good marketing newsletter. Well worth downloading. Dick Stroud

AARP – how the world has changed

I received one of the AARP’s numerous e-mail newsletters and the first article I see is about mobile fitness electronics.

I didn’t know that Nike and Apple have teamed up to offer a wireless transmitter you insert into your Nike running shoe which syncs with your iPod nano to announce your distance, pace and elapsed time.

Nor did I know that you can program the music to increase your pace. The transmitter can also sync up with the NikePlus website so you can see the results of your workout and monitor your progress.

It suddenly struck me that I was reading this on the AARP web site and reminded me of a new Veer image of the 50-plus. More my style. Dick Stroud
