It’s enough to make you weep

Even the dimmest politician must understand the importance of the older voter. If the don’t they should look at this web site that shows the percentage of older voters in each constituency in the UK.

Last week the BBC and the newspapers were going on about how the political parties were or were not ‘courting’ the ‘grey vote’.

If the UK’s politicians have only just woken up to the changing demographics and its importance on all issues of government policy then my opinion will sink to an even lower level – something I thought scientifically impossible.

For those UK politicians who have a rudimentary understanding of maths and the Internet they should look at the latest report from Pew Internet that shows how important the Web has become as means of political news distribution.

It is going to be hilarious to see how the UK's political parties decide to market to the 50-plus. Dick Stroud
